Okikawa Maru in Coron

Exploring the Okikawa Maru Wreck

The Okikawa Maru wreck lies upright in 10 to 26 meters of water, making it accessible to both beginners and more advanced divers. The shallow depth of the deck allows for longer bottom time and easier navigation.

For certified wreck divers, there are several safe penetration routes to explore inside the ship’s massive hull, including the engine room and propeller shaft.

Over time, the Okikawa Maru has become a haven for marine life. You can spot large schools of batfish, sweetlips, and groupers swimming around the structure.

The exterior is covered in soft corals and sponges, adding vibrant color to the metal walls. Although visibility is usually good, some areas may have occasional current, especially near the stern.
