Wreck diving in El Nido: a single site with big impact
Wreck diving in El Nido? El Nido may not be known for wrecks like Coron, but it still offers one impressive site for wreck divers. Lying off the coast in deeper water, a former cable-laying platform now serves as a fascinating dive destination. With towering steel structures and a unique industrial design, it provides something very different from reef or wall diving in Bacuit Bay.

Why wreck diving in El Nido is ideal for training and courses
Because of its depth and layout, this site is perfect for specialty training. Many dive centers use the platform for wreckand deep dive courses. The main structure rests around 25–30 meters, with parts extending upward, creating multiple levels to explore. Large entry points and strong visibility make it safe and accessible for divers with basic wreck training.
Instructors often bring students here for Advanced Open Water training, combining navigation, depth, and wreck orientation in one controlled dive.
Marine life and photography during wreck diving in El Nido
Though artificial, the wreck has attracted marine life over the years. Soft corals, small sponges, and schools of reef fish now call the structure home. You may also find lionfish hovering in the shadows or nudibranchs along the metal beams. Because of the wreck’s size and angular design, it’s also a favorite among underwater photographers looking for dramatic compositions.
